Peace and Saraity Portrait | Crown Chakra | by Anjeanette
I did a portrait of Madame Sarai to celebrate the completion of her Chakra ASMR series!
As another artist with an ADHD wired brain and occasional insomnia, I found asmr youtubes years ago to help chill before bed. I usually listen to them with headphones and my eyes closed- but that’s not easy with Sarai’s content- she has the best eyes (because yeah I am a BIG EYE painter but gurl I didn’t even exaggerate these giant peepers! Gorgeous!). Sarai’s video visuals, makeup, and overall aesthetic in combo with her soothing voice! I highly recommend this series for relaxing and daydreaming before sleep!

BLM | Justice for all | Summer 2020
…one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all…
I saw this photo on facebook after completing the painting and thought “she looks so much like Justice!” I do not know the girls name, the photo was taken by a photographer named Sarah Smith Wills.
I wonder if in all the images I saw this week I did see this photo and not remember consciously? The same verse/saying. She even has a red/pink top. I used a different protester for a loose reference but the Justice I painted looks so much like this child!
Magician Design Off | The Yellow 'Dragon' | Artist Anjeanette
Ok I am only a few hours late to the #AdobeLiveDesignOff hosted by Voodoo Val- I actually finished midday yesterday but didi not have time to upload and post :/
Here is my Magician and the tiny yellow dragon she created!
Watch a timelapse replay of the painting!!
SORRY FOR THE PAUSES! These occur when I do not finish in one sitting/walk away for more than a few hours. I do not edit them out so that my process and what I am actually doing is totally open/transparent! :)
Some details close up, never drawn an iguana before…soooo many tiny little details!…
Nothing Fishy here | My Concept painting for Disney's The Little Mermaid | Artist Anjeanette
Cautiously optimistic! While I don’t/can’t rely on entertainment co’s to ‘parent’ (insert great responsibility quotes here) isn’t this an exciting opportunity to show that beauty is found in every form and healthy relationships don’t mean losing your voice (or body harm)? I was NOT a fan of the original Disney Little Mermaid because while I loved seeing redheads get some great attention and mermaids are awesome...I hated seeing another girl who felt pressure to silence herself and go through harmful painful processes to alter her body to “get” the man.
Great choices with casting Ms Bailey-can’t wait to hear Halle sing!!
And 👍🏼 for growth in handling subject matter, progress so far in the live-action adaptations, hope the positive trend continues with #littlemermaid
Hoping the story can include the important message that her voice and what she says or sings matters, positive body ideas (like maybe not hurting yourself to win love)
And let’s give the Prince Eric’s some more credit for being intelligent, knowing who they want, and seeing what really matters too. And obvs I am not a paid Disney employee, this character does not belong to me, I will not resell or otherwise get compensation for this Disney owned character (unless they want to talk! Love them!) This is a fan art piece only :)

Cut Out & Keep DIY the LOOK | CO&K Sidekick
DIY The Look is a series of Cut Out & Keep Make and share step-by-step craft tutorials & articles curated by Cat Morley and her super alter-ego Crafterella in the UK. DIY The Look articles focus on a mix of tutorials including accessories, clothes, jewelry and make-up to create a complete everyday fashion or cosplay look. I went through the entire Cut Out & Keep site to find fun tutorials for items to create and awesome Valkyrie cosplay! There were so many to choose from- CO&K is a rabbit hole of neat projects and step by step how to’s for crafty goddesses <3
“I love a redemption arc, and a strong warrior woman- Valkyrie is both- a badass hero on a mission! The character is amazing in Thor: Ragnarok, and dazzles as the warrior Queen of New Asgard in Endgame. Renowned for her prowess in battle, Brunnhilde or Valkyrie carries the enchanted sword Dragonfang in a sheath on her breastplate armor beside a royal blue cloak. Her smoky eyes, bubble style mohawk, and white face paint (or homemade eyeliner, perhaps in pearl?) complete the cation package! Here are 12 projects to get the look inspired by actor Tessa Thompson. I suggest starting with the brewing of the Mead so it's ready when your creating and work up a craft warrior sweat! Skol!” Anjeanette
A looong time ago in a galaxy far away (Tennessee, America) a corset tutorial how to I created was featured in a Catwoman Diy The Look!

Self Portrait May 2018 | Anjeanette Illusration
Quick video of how I coloured today's self portrait, with the first sketch and digital painting below. Def inspired by my "Master Study" challenge from yesterday of a painting by the amazing Sara Tepes! Sara is ALL the Ooh-La-La y'all!
I painted in Photoshop, using mostly Kyle T Webster brushes. I imported a phone photo of my pencil drawing to paint over. This technique os called 'glazing' where you paint completely in monochrome and then layer by layer add small percentages of colour. The digital equivilant to a glazed oil painting?
The self portrait is mine, the master study of Sara's work below is not mine- well the drawing I did yesterday was in my hand BUT the concept and original artwork is all hers. Whats the point of doing a Master Copy Study? To continue to grow in technique and experience! I have been painting and drawing all my life, but recently committed to 10,000 hours of practice in 2018 & 19 as suggested by Malcolm Gladwell in Outliers: The Story of Success.
A Master Study of work I admire seemed like a great addition to 10,000 hours of practice. I believe I did some master studies when I was enrolled in the Oatley Academy, and I KNOW I did them at SCAD. So. Many. Studies.
The point ISN'T to try to BE and STYLE just like another artist- its to learn from their process and then apply it to your own! I personally don't feel one has to "find" their style- I really think its a part of you, your story, and it just oozes out everytime you pick up a pen. Like, even with my study of Sara Tepe's painting... it is different. It's def not exactly like Sara's and never would I try to pass it off as hers! But watching her paint on her youtube account and trying my hand at it taught me a lot that I can apply to my personal work.

Located in the Oak Street, between 14th and 15th Street, the artsy Coronado neighborhood, the festival had over 37 artists painting panels and enjoying an Arizona spring Sunday. Breakfast Doodles | Phoenix Artist & Illustrator Anjeanette
I was thinking about my complete inability to master Snapchat, and it brought to mind those old mama's saying like "if you keep making those faces your face is gonna get stuck that way permanently!"
The kids and I looked it up, totally inaccurate per scientific research. So if filters are the pulling faces of today, don't be scared to get slapped on the back- even if you do the antlers and rainbow puke won't stay there forever!

Stranger Things Matryoshka | Pop culture Nesting dolls | Anjeanette Illustration
Finally finished up my fan art Stranger Things nesting dolls after getting distracted by that cross country move to Arizona! This outside Matryoshka doll was larger than I am used to, giving me more room to play with one of my favorite themes by adding an Eggo halo to Eleven. Who else is pumped for Season 2??
Always available for commissions! If your looking for a unique Christmas present...I like to have a 3 week lead time to create!
(obviously I do not own any rights to any of the Stranger Things characters or stories and do not profit from geeking out and painting them)
